Salary/Hourly Rate: Start @ $28.43 +shift dif; $31.11 test qualified.
Simpson Lumber Co. in Tacoma WA has an immediate opening for an experienced manufacturing electrician with strong PLC trouble shooting skills. Essential functions and responsibilities:
** Ensures operation of electrical systems and equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on AC Drives, DC Drives, conveyors, programmable controllers, HMIs, transformers, and machinery wiring; following electrical code, manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints, and other specifications; troubleshooting.
** Installs new machines and equipment by installing power supply wiring and conduit to and between machines and equipment; using hand tools and test equipment.
** Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications; establishing personal networks.
** Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
** Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
** Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
All candidates must be safety conscious, self-motivated, possess excellent communication skills, be experienced in working with other crafts, and have a desire to work in a market focused, team environment.
Qualifications – Required:
Minimum 2 - 3 years experience as a journeyman electrician in a mfg operation.
Must have strong PLC troubleshooting skills.
Applicants must be experienced in trouble shooting manufacturing electrical problems & breakdowns on computer optimized equipment.
Applicant’s electrical knowledge and PLC trouble shooting skills will be tested.
Applicants must pass an interview process, literacy test (reading & math), criminal background, reference check, and a chemical test.
