Laborer
|
A laborer is an entry level employee whose job is to perform a variety of basic tasks. A candidate for this position must be in good physical condition as he/she will be required to perform manual labor within conditions that are sometimes less than ideal, such as outdoors during inclement winter, including exposure to wood dust and at times loud noises daily.
Lifting - It is important for prospective laborers to be physically fit, as they may be required to lift heavy objects repeatedly during the course of the shift.
Maintenance - A laborer is often responsible for maintaining his/her work environment, such as sweeping, mopping and performing various duties.
Skills - Successful laborers possess the ability to follow directions and work without constant supervision, knowledge of basic mechanics and how to use hand tools. The ability to stand for long periods of time, lift heavy loads and endure extremes in temperature or harsh weather conditions are also necessary.

Security Guard
|
The primary duties involve making rounds through the sawmill. Also perform a variety of tasks such as aids in the direction of chip, bark, sawdust and shavings trucks entering and leaving the mill during the night and as needed on weekends; taking inventory, inspecting areas where hot-work permits were issued, assist with grounds maintenance (mowing grass/yard work), do light housekeeping by cleaning front office on weekends, pick up litter. Other duties as needed.
Provide security for the plant personnel, buildings, supplies, and inventory. The Security Guards play a very important role in fire prevention and detection, especially during times when the plant is vacant, such as weekends and holidays.
High School Diploma or GED required. Strong safety orientation, teamwork and good housekeeping is a must.

Prepares and implements major electrical and instrument maintenance activities. Helps develop annual maintenance budget. Investigates electrical and instrument equipment failures and develops action plans to eliminate repetitive failures. Reviews mill maintenance methods and identifies items to improve mill efficiency. Works to improve the safety and housekeeping of the facility.
